The Belgrade Food Bank received a single-day record donation of nearly 15 tons of groceries on April 13 thanks to an Easter program titled "Together more human" that was organized by Delhaize Serbia along with its suppliers, who collected more than 7 tons of food. Customers also participated, donating an additional 7 tons of food at over 100 Maxi, Tempo and Shop & Go stores.
The total donation – the largest since the food bank's inception in Serbia – included basic groceries such as vegetable oil, sugar and rice, as well as apples, sweets, milk and personal products.
“This is a record one-time donation to the Belgrade Food Bank, and we are grateful to the companies that participated in this action," said Food Bank President Radmila Ivetić. "We have had a multiple-year partnership with Delhaize Serbia, and connecting with their suppliers as well shows that there are people in Serbia who recognize the importance and the potential of this personal project."
“One of the strategic goals of our company is to have a positive influence on the communities we do business in. Our associates and our customers are constantly involved in humanitarian actions," said Quentin Royer, COO of Delhaize Serbia. "I am very glad that we have included some of our biggest suppliers today. I am grateful to them that we joined forces, showed solidarity at work, and contributed to the aid of those who need it most.”
