Ahold USA divisions launch new prescription savings card

The Ahold USA divisions are making it easier for customers and their families to receive instant savings on brand name and generic prescriptions with the launch of the Prescription Savings Card. The card is not insurance, but offers discounts for prescriptions and personalized savings throughout the store on products you need to stay healthy.

“We are committed to meeting our customers’ health and wellness needs while offering outstanding value,” said Gayle Shields, director of pharmacy operations, Giant Landover. “The Prescription Savings Card will enable loyal customers to purchase the high quality prescriptions and pet medications they need at a fraction of the price.”

The Prescription Savings Card can be used for any prescriptions that a customer pays for out of their own pockets, not covered by their health insurance. A one-time enrollment fee of $10 per household is required to receive a Prescription Savings Card. As a thank you for joining, customers will receive $10 off a future grocery purchase (except in Rhode Island and New Jersey stores).

With the Prescription Savings Card, customers can save on many brand name and generic prescriptions as well as pet medications. Cardholders will pay $3.99 for a 30-day supply and $9.99 for a 90-day supply of select generic medications. Additional pharmacy savings will be offered to customers with the Prescription Savings Card during select months throughout the year, including savings on flu shots and diabetes testing supplies (except in New Jersey stores).
