sponsorships Our sponsorship projects

At Ahold Delhaize and our 16 local brands, we believe in contributing to communities beyond our daily business in food retail. This is why we have proactively established long-term partnerships with numerous charities to make a positive impact on the communities we serve.

The Global FoodBanking Network

In July 2024, Ahold Delhaize entered a sponsorship with The Global FoodBanking Network (GFN), an international non-profit organization dedicated to hunger relief while reducing food loss and waste. Ahold Delhaize will contribute to GFN's mission of supporting community-led food banks, which play a crucial role in redirecting surplus, nutritious food to those who need it most.

As a substantial part of Ahold Delhaize’s daily work evolves around food, it only makes sense that Ahold Delhaize’s local brands work closely together with local food banks, to provide food donations and other resources. By working together with GFN, Ahold Delhaize can contribute and build on the quality of its local brands' numerous community initiatives. Ahold Delhaize is providing financial support and will share expertise to help GFN build capacity, offer technical assistance, and drive innovation, making food banks more effective and resilient in the nine countries where Ahold Delhaize’s brands operate.

About The Global FoodBanking Network

The Global FoodBanking Network works with partners in over 50 countries to alleviate hunger and tackle climate change at the same time. Our partner food banks work with 50,000 local agencies and are supported by over 400,000 volunteers. Last year, we provided food to more than 32 million people. We are fixing the global food system so it functions as it should: nourishing people and the planet together. For more information: www.foodbanking.org.
