Albert Heijn opens pick-up points in Tilburg and Naarden

Zaandam, the Netherlands – On Thursday, December 13 and Saturday, December 15, two Albert Heijn pick-up points will open for business in the Dutch towns of Tilburg and Naarden. Customers will be able to pick up the shopping they order online free of charge at a time to suit them.

Tilburg will see the opening of the country’s second Albert Heijn pick-up point on Thursday, December 13. The new pick-up point is located at the Katsbogen business park on the edge of Tilburg and Goirle, next to the main Tilburg exit on the A58. Two days later, on Saturday, December 15, Albert Heijn will open the Naarden pick-up point beside the A1, near exit 6 to Naarden Vesting. The thoroughfare locations of the two pick-up points makes it easy for customers to collect their shopping on their way home. A visit to a pick-up point is easy and free of charge: customers have their shopping within minutes and can swiftly be on their way to wherever they need to go next – a real boon for anyone who feels that there’s sometimes just not enough time in the day to pop into the store or arrange to have their shopping delivered to their home.

Broadening online services

At the end of 2011, Ahold unveiled its new online growth strategy, which crucially envisages an expansion of online services to customers, with the launch of Albert Heijn pick-up points being a key milestone in its achievement. The first such pick-up point opened for business in the Dutch town of Heemstede on November 1. Since then, hundreds of customers have experienced the convenience of ordering online and picking up their shopping. Customers report liking the flexibility and time-saving this method of shopping provides.

More information about the Albert Heijn pick-up points is available at www.ah.nl/pickup (in Dutch). The pick-up points are open Mondays through Saturdays from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm.
