My Bonus
On Wednesday, October 26, Albert Heijn Belgium opened its second (franchised) store in Stabroek, Belgium. After the successful opening of the first store in Brasschaat, Belgium in March 2011, we are now pleased to open our second store in the country. The franchisees operating the store in Stabroek are the same team already proudly serving customers, together with their employees, at the store in Brasschaat.
The Stabroek store is housed in a brand-new 2,000 m2 building and offers around 17,000 products to customers, including around 1,700 products especially for the Belgian market.
The store in Brasschaat has already proved itself to be a success. We have an ongoing inspiring dialogue with 5,500 Facebook fans in Belgium. The store's customers are happy with Albert Heijn's regular assortment, as well as the 10 percent local Belgian products added especially to the assortment for Albert Heijn Belgium. The turnover of the first store has been beyond expectation, and the customers are visiting from a larger catchment area than anticipated.
An impressive 18,000 customers have signed up to the Albert Heijn Bonus Card, and customers are appreciating Albert Heijn's promotions, including "hamster weeks", buy-one-get-one-free coupons, and special offers on own-brand products. With one pricing structure across Belgium, we hope to copy our success in Brasschaat to Stabroek.
