Wouter Kolk, Brand President of Albert Heijn and Ahold Delhaize Chief Operating Officer the Netherlands and Belgium, said: “With Saskia, Etos is well positioned for the next phase in its development. During three years as SVP Marketing, Format and Communications (MFC), she led Albert Heijn in a communications strategy focused on being more open and engaging in dialogue. Saving campaigns including AR/VR technology were introduced, and she was responsible for the launch of the Appie Today social channel. Saskia starts in her new role as of September 1.
We thank Jan-Derek for his service during the past years, in which Etos was elected as best drugstore in the Netherland three times and the brand was renewed with more focus on health and beauty. He also led the expansion of Etos own brand products to the United States and Europe. This experience will serve him well in his new role as SVP European Strategic Projects, with a focus on best practice sharing between the different brands in Europe.
Following these appointments, we are creating a new role of EVP Commerce within the Albert Heijn executive team, overseeing marketing, format as well as merchandising and sourcing. This will enable even more speed and decisiveness – critical elements in the fast-changing retail environment we operate in. Marit and her team in the past years successfully started a movement to make the Albert Heijn assortment healthier and more innovative. Her team also realized several new concepts, including the Allerhande Mealbox and Product Pitch.
