Ahold USA appoints Mark McGowan as Executive Vice President of Merchandising

Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States – Ahold USA today announced that Mark McGowan has been appointed to the position of Executive Vice President of Merchandising, Ahold USA, effective today. In this role, which will be based in Carlisle, PA, McGowan will report directly to James McCann, Chief Operating Officer, and will focus on leading a merchandising team that supports Ahold USA and its four Divisions, Stop & Shop New England, Stop & Shop New York Metro, Giant Landover and Giant Carlisle.

McGowan had previously served as Executive Vice President of Supply Chain for Ahold USA.

McGowan has more than 21 years of experience with Ahold USA companies. He joined the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company in 1991 as a management trainee, and his positions have included Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Stop & Shop New York Division, Senior Vice President of Sales at Stop & Shop and Senior Vice President of Stop & Shop New England. McGowan became President of the Stop & Shop New England Division in November 2009. In 2012, Mark was appointed Executive Vice President of Supply Chain for Ahold USA, and has also led the Ahold USA Merchandising function on an interim basis.

McGowan’s direct reports include Jeff Dichele, Senior Vice President, Non-Perishables Merchandising; John Ruane, interim Senior Vice President, Fresh Merchandising; Jodie Daubert, Senior Vice President, Sales Development; Raymond McCall, Senior Vice President, Pharmacy & HBC Merchandising; and Roger Wheeler, Senior Vice President, Oracle Program Lead.
