Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States – Ahold USA today announced the decision to split the former EVP of Marketing and Merchandising role into two positions to better support our strategy to grow as a company. With this new structure, Ahold USA will be better able to support the local retail divisions – Stop & Shop New England, Stop & Shop New York Metro, Giant Landover and Giant Carlisle -- in delivering on their local needs in order to better differentiate themselves from competitors.
Ahold USA also announced that Erik Keptner has been promoted to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Marketing, Ahold USA, effective immediately.
In his role, Keptner will report to Carl Schlicker, Chief Operating Officer of Ahold USA. He will be responsible for creating, developing, and implementing the long term marketing strategies in a manner that supports Ahold USA’s growth ambitions and sales targets. He and his team will support the division teams in delivering a compelling brand and customer offer that drives sales and responds to the customers’ needs, staying ahead of the competition.
Keptner began his career at Ahold companies in 1998 as a Consumer Research Analyst at GIANT/MARTIN’S. He has taken on several roles of increasing responsibility since, including Director ofConsumer Insight Data and SVP Advertising and Marketing at GIANT/MARTIN’S. Since 2010, Erik hasbeen the Senior Vice President, Marketing and Consumer Insights for Ahold USA.
