Albert Heijn to introduce new Bonus Card soon

Same personal service as was offered from the start

Zaandam - Albert Heijn will be introducing a new Bonus Card soon. With this new Bonus Card, customers will continue to benefit from our trusted Bonus discounts without having to do a thing. In addition, if customers choose to activate their new Bonus Cards online, they will be offered personal discounts and will be able to save up Air Miles faster in future. On activation, the new Bonus Card will be a real loyalty card through which Albert Heijn aims to thank and reward its customers for doing their daily grocery shopping at Albert Heijn.

The same reliable service in a new form

Albert Heijn began in 1887 with one store. Its small scale made it possible to point out relevant special offers and products to customers personally. Albert Heijn wants to continue this tradition, which is why it will be making use of modern technology. With the new Bonus Card, Albert Heijn will be able to provide customers, if they so chose, the same personal service as was offered back then. And, of course, all customers will continue to benefit from our trusted Bonus discounts. Customers who activate their Bonus Cards online will receive, in addition to the regular Bonus discounts, personal special offers, such as discounts on products that they often buy and discounts on products that Albert Heijn believes are relevant to them.

Customers in control

Albert Heijn believes it is important that its services are transparent, personal and trustworthy, and that all personal information is treated with care. Albert Heijn will provide a clear explanation to customers as to why and to which ends their personal information will be used. This way, customers will be able to make a well-informed and considered decision when participating in the personal Bonus Card program. Customers themselves will be able to choose if they want to make use of the service.

Air Miles

Along with the launch of the new Bonus Card, Albert Heijn will also expand the Air Miles program. All customers with an Air Miles card will receive one Air Mile for every €2 they spend at Albert Heijn. Customers will be able to exchange their Air Miles at Albert Heijn, existing Air Miles partners and – for the first time – at bol.com. Customers who activate their Bonus Card online and have it linked to their Air Miles card will be able to save up Air Miles faster, as well as profit from extra collect-and-exchange opportunities.

Exchanging

Soon, all Albert Heijn stores will be promoting the new Bonus Card. Customers will be given their new Albert Heijn Bonus Card at the checkout and can turn in their old one in stores. With the new Bonus Card, customers will continue to be able to benefit from the Bonus discounts as usual without needing to undertake any further action. Customers who wish to benefit from the extra opportunities of the new Bonus Card can activate it online. It will remain possible to use the old Bonus Cards until January 6, 2014, after which it will expire.
