Super Indo was established in 1997 through a partnership between Delhaize and the Indonesian retail company the Salim Group. It is known for its wide variety of fresh products, particularly its fresh meat, and its affordable prices. Most stores are located in densely populated areas such as Jakarta, Bandung and Yogakarta.
Super Indo is a leader in sustainable retailing. Its approach to waste management has won acknowledgment from organizations such as the Indonesian Solid Waste Association and it partners with local farmers and small and medium enterprises to promote local economies.
Ahold Delhaize owns a 51% share in Super Indo.
