Overview

Alfa Beta Vassilopoulos (AB) was established in 1939, when brothers Gerasimos and Haralambos Vassilopoulos opened a small grocery store in downtown Athens.

Over almost 80 years AB has continued to grow and innovate while maintaining its distinctive Greek identity. AB supermarkets are known for their wide variety of quality own-brand products, competitive prices and superb customer service. In 2015, despite tough economic conditions in Greece, AB continued to gain market share, largely due to store expansion (opening more than 36 stores) and strong comparable store sales growth.

AB’s other formats include AB Food Market, ΑΒ Shop & Go and AB City.
